Open Play Events

We collaborate with local businesses to host open play events, bringing the Mahj community together to connect, socialize, and enjoy the game.

Tickets are available for both individual players and full tables of four. These events are designed for players with a basic understanding of Mahjong (completion of Mahjong 101 & 102, or equivalent experience). If you’re newer to the game and would benefit from extra support, please select a Guided Play ticket or table. This option ensures that an instructor will regularly check in, offer rule reminders, and provide strategic guidance throughout the event.

The Mahj Co. will provide all necessary equipment for the event, including tiles, mats, and racks. Please bring your own NMJL card for open play. A limited number of extra cards will be available to borrow on a first-come, first-served basis. You can purchase your card directly from the NMJL here, or support a local business by picking one up at Elm Street Books!
